OUR MISSION
The City of San Luis Obispo is looking to replace the cogeneration and natural gas boilers at the Sinsheimer Swim Center with a solar-powered boiler. Our project team is investigating the necessary equipment and finances needed to make the switch to a clean, green energy source as well as some of the energy, emissions, and cost outcomes as a result of this switch.
Project Goals
-
Establish a set of options for the City of the San Luis Obispo for replacing all or part of the natural gas heating capacity at Sinsheimer Swim Center with renewable energy alternatives
-
Conduct a heat and financial analysis of the present heating system at a high level
-
Explicitly connect this project to the City of San Luis Obispo's pledge to achieve carbon neutrality by 2035
-
Coordinate with City officials to provide this project outline to the city planning authority by June 2019
